Monique Ruyle, EHP Executive Director |
Thank you, one and
all, for continuing your work and providing exceptional care while I was away
on maternity leave. Sabrina Lynn turned seven months old on December 22. I am
looking forward to continuing our progress toward meeting our goals in 2016.
In October, 2015
the Board of Managers approved changes to the EvergreenHealth Partners
distribution model. As you may recall, our 2014 payout, paid in July 2015, was a
total of $390,000.The changes, proposed by the EHP Payer Committee, were
initiated to help align distribution with the payers attribution models, keeping in
mind the majority of contract quality metrics link to Primary Care.
The first change
was to pay leaders for their time out of operations, not out of the shared
savings dollars from the plans. The second change in the distribution model
impacts providers practicing in OB/GYN, which will now be included in “Primary
Care”. To reconcile the increased quantity of providers attributed to Primary
Care and to the quality metric work, 70 percent of EHP’s full provider bonus pool will be allocated between
Primary Care providers, with the remaining 30 percent to be dispersed among
Specialty Care providers.
The third change
approved by the Board of Managers pertains to Specialty Care, in that provider
bonus incentives will be divided equally among Specialty Care providers that
have provided care for at least one patient covered under an EHP contract. Each
provider’s quality score at year end will also continue to impact the bonus
amount received.
Primary Distribution Model Changes
Receiving a bonus
incentive from EHP is contingent on two actions:
- Quality data reporting on the EHP clinical initiatives assigned to the provider's specialty.
- Quality data on 80 percent or more of your initiatives earns you a quality score of 100 percent and your full bonus incentive.
- Quality data on 60-79 percent of your initiatives earns you a quality score of 50 percent and half of your bonus incentive.
- Quality data on 0-59 percent of your initiatives earns you a quality score of 0 percent and none of your bonus incentive.
If you have any questions about your EHP clinical initiatives, please speak to
your practice manager or contact EHP's Quality Coordinator, Sara Rutherford, at
smrutherford@evergreenhealth.com.
2. Providing care to attributed patients covered by the health plans and
products with which EHP has active contracts.Additional ways to
earn a bonus:
At the end of the
reconciliation, the total of all bonus incentive dollars surrendered by the
providers with quality scores equal to 50 percent or 0 percent is redistributed
to all providers with a quality score of 100 percent. This means that
providers who do not have attributed patients under EHP contracts (primary
care), or do not provide care to EHP patients during the course of the year
(specialty care) can still receive an incentive if they earn a quality score of
100 percent.
Further, EHP
providers are compensated for their time attending the one-hour EHP educational
session in November up to $200 depending on shared savings payment.
Thank you for your
continued commitment to EHP and to our collective goal of delivering the right
care to the right patient at the right time—every time.
