Regence Accountable Health Network

EvergreenHealth Partners is now part of a new Regence BlueShield provider network and insurance product called Accountable Health Network (AHN). EHP is one of four approved AHNs at this time; the others are The Everett Clinic, UW Medicine and MultiCare Health System.
With Regence receiving approval by the insurance commissioner in late November/early December, it is now selling this product to individuals on and off the insurance exchange and to small groups (defined as employers under 50).  Later in 2015, Regence plans to expand AHN sales to large (51+) and self-funded groups.

Here are some key points to familiarize you and others about this contract:
  • Each AHN is considered a narrow network; EHP referrals are intended to stay within EHP and VM for the sake of allowing the highest level of coverage.
  • There are services outside of EHP that Regence is using their broader PPO network to fill, i.e. chiropractor, etc.  We have requested a complete provider directory to assist with referrals; however, Regence has not yet finalized this.
  • EHP is considered as a standalone network as are the other AHNs, meaning that we cannot automatically refer to UW or The Everett Clinic.  If a patient is to be referred beyond the “enhanced” EHP panel (say to a UW specialist), Regence will require a referral and preauthorization (See attachment describing their process).
  • Patient ID cards will look like the below examples:  “Evergreen” will be at the top on the front of the card and a selected/assigned PCP will be listed below (see red boxes in the example)
  • There will be unique prefix for EHP in the subscriber ID number:  “ZLG”.
