We’re pleased to tell you about three recent recognitions EvergreenHealth has received:
Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence
EvergreenHealth has achieved several of the highest recognitions available for clinical excellence from Healthgrades*, including the 2015 Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence award. This places EvergreenHealth among the top 5% of hospitals nationally for its quality patient care and superior clinical performance. This is the sixth time we’ve earned this designation.
In addition, Healthgrades named EvergreenHealth one of “America’s 100 Best Hospitals” for pulmonary care, gastrointestinal care and general surgery, placing us among the top 5% of hospitals nationally for clinical excellence in each of those specialties. The stroke and critical care programs were each recognized with the Excellence Award, placing them among the top 10% of hospitals nationally in those services. This is the sixth consecutive year the stroke program has been recognized with the Excellence Award.
*Healthgrades is the nation’s most trusted source of physician information and hospital quality ratings.
ADA Recognition for Diabetes Education
The EvergreenHealth Diabetes Education Program has once again earned the prestigious Education Recognition Certificate from the American Diabetes Association. Programs that achieve recognition status are proven to have a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who can provide state-of-the-art information about diabetes management for participants. Our program has been recognized since 2011, and supports diabetes patients so they can assume a major part of the responsibility for diabetes management and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and some of the acute and chronic complications of diabetes.
EvergreenHealth Medical Center Re-designated as a Level III Trauma Center
EvergreenHealth Medical Center has been awarded an extension of its designation as a Level III trauma center through 2017. A State Department of Health team conducted a rigorous on-site survey in October, touring various hospital departments, reviewing patient charts and evaluating our procedures. The survey team was highly complimentary of the employees and physicians they spoke with and were impressed by the level of dedication and commitment our staff demonstrated regarding the Washington State Trauma System.
The official designation letter stated “It is commendable that the residents of the state will continue to benefit from your participation in the trauma system…the successful achievement of your re-designation is something to be proud of. It is evident that your hospital continues to be committed to the trauma system.”
